Calcipotriene treats plaque psoriasis due to its anti-inflammatory effects. It also has antitumor effects and when used with fluorouracil can reduce treatment duration. Fluorouracil treats precancerous cells known as actinic keratoses. It also treats basal cell carcinoma and plaque psoriasis by interfering with a cell's ability to reproduce without harming normal skin cells. Fluorouracil inhibits DNA and RNA synthesis which is believed to be the mechanism that also stops wart proliferation.

Minoxidil is a vasodilator that widens your blood vessels and increases blood flow to your hair follicles. It also helps stimulate hair growth by lengthening the growth phase of the hair cycle. It does not stop hair loss, but promotes the shedding of "resting phase" hair and replacing it with "growth phase" hair, thus it may seem that you are shedding more hair during initial use. This will only last for a few months but will be replaced with thicker denser hair from the growth phase.

Finasteride works by blocking the conversion of testosterone in your body to dihydrotestosterone, which is the primary hormone responsible for binding to your hair follicles and causing damage.

Tacrolimus is used topically on the scalp for the treatment of alopecia areata (an unpredictable, usually  patchy,  non-scarring  hair  loss  condition). Tacrolimus keeps hair in the growth (anagen) phase, thus promoting hair growth and reducing hair loss. 

Cantharidin is applied topically under medical supervision to help remove warts. This causes a blister on the skin which lifts the wart off the skin and after a few days when the blister has dried the wart will come off. Its action does not go beyond the skin, the basal layer remains intact hence there is no scarring. Aluminum Chloride topical solution is used for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). It can also be useful for hemostasis (slow and control bleeding rates) during surgical procedures. You may apply the solution to a cotton ball/pad and then apply it to the affected area or spray it directly onto the affected area. Let it dry completely before putting clothing over the medicated area.
